// Industries / SaaS & Software
Software products that survive contact with real tenants.
Multi-tenant architecture, usage metering and billing, a public API your customers can actually build against, and the onboarding that decides whether anyone ever reaches paid.
The Problems We Actually Get Called About
These are SaaS failures, not generic software problems. They arrive late, and they are expensive to fix late.
Billing That Nobody Can Explain
Seat-based, usage-based, hybrid, proration, credits, dunning, refunds. Every dispute about an invoice is a churn event and a support ticket.
Noisy Neighbours
One tenant running an expensive job degrades the experience for everyone else, and the first time a customer notices, trust is gone.
The Empty Product Problem
New accounts see blank dashboards and empty lists. Time-to-first-value is not a design detail, it is the conversion rate.
Usage Metering Disputes
If metering is approximate, customers will eventually notice and stop believing the invoice. Metering bugs read as billing bugs.
An API You Cannot Change
Customers integrate against your endpoints. Without a versioning and deprecation policy, every release is a potential break.
Enterprise Requirements Arriving Late
SSO, SCIM, audit exports, data residency and review processes usually land after the deal is signed, not in the original scope.
What We Build Here
Same three modules as every engagement. Different contents, because the SaaS constraint set is specific.
BUILD: Platform Core
Tenant model, workspace and role structure, authentication, usage metering, subscription lifecycle and public API surface. Built so a migration can happen later without a rewrite.
DESIGN: Activation Surface
Onboarding that reaches first value quickly, empty states that suggest a next action, admin consoles that survive real operational data, and an upgrade flow that explains itself.
GROW: Self-Serve And Pipeline
Pricing and signup conversion testing, trial-to-paid lifecycle journeys triggered on product events, and account-based work for the enterprise tier.
Constraints And Where We Stop
Being straight about the parts of SaaS that are not engineering problems we can solve on our own.
PCI DSS Is Not Ours
Where card data touches your systems at all changes your PCI DSS scope. We integrate processors through hosted fields or SDKs so the cardholder data environment can be kept as small as your acquirer permits. We do not assess, scope or attest PCI DSS. That is a qualified security assessor and your acquirer.
We Are A Vendor In Your Chain
Enterprise buyers will security-review us. We will supply our architecture, dependency inventory and process documentation, and we will remediate findings. Any attestation about our own controls is issued by an external assessor, not by us.
Data Residency Is An Architecture Bill
Single-region is cheap and fast. Multi-region residency, or a residency requirement from a customer, changes the data model, the deployment topology and the cost base. We will price it honestly rather than discover it in month three.
Pen Tests And Assurance
We do not perform penetration tests, security audits or certification. Independent testing before a paid launch is the normal expectation for a SaaS product handling customer data, and we build to make that testing straightforward.
Technical Decisions That Matter Here
The choices below are where SaaS systems quietly become expensive to change.
Isolation In The Data Layer
Tenant scoping enforced where the data lives, not only in application code. Row-level security, or separate databases, chosen deliberately against your isolation and cost requirements.
Ledger-Style Metering
Usage recorded as immutable postings with idempotency keys rather than a mutable counter. Aggregations are derived, so a replay never double-bills a customer.
Expand And Contract Migrations
Every schema change lands in two deploys: add, then switch, then remove. Your customers upgrade across releases, and a migration must not hold a table lock mid-deploy.
Async Work On A Queue
Webhooks, usage rollups, exports and email are background jobs with retry, backoff and visible dead-letter queues. Synchronous request handling is for request handling.
Cache Keys Carry The Tenant
Every cache key, job payload and log line includes the tenant identifier. Cross-tenant cache bleed is the classic multi-tenant data leak.
An API Contract, Not An Endpoint List
OpenAPI as the source of truth, additive changes by default, a published deprecation window, and rate limits that are documented rather than surprising.
Mapped To Real Services
Every capability below is an existing WebNuvexa service page. Nothing here is bespoke-only work we invented for this page.
➤ SaaS Development — Multi-tenant core, subscription management, workspace and team model.
➤ Web Development — The application layer: auth flows, dashboards, and the screens users live in.
➤ API Development — Versioned public API, webhooks, rate limiting and developer documentation.
➤ Custom Software — Usage metering, reconciliation jobs, and internal ops tooling.
➤ DevOps & Cloud — Environments, CI/CD, migrations, observability and rollback.
➤ MVP Development — Cutting a paid roadmap down to the smallest thing worth charging for.
➤ Legacy Modernization — Migrating off a monolith or a hosted platform without a feature freeze.
➤ UI/UX Design — Onboarding, empty states, admin consoles and the upgrade moment.
➤ Design Systems — Component library so twelve screens do not become twelve designs.
➤ Conversion Rate Optimization — Signup, activation and upgrade flow testing, tied to a defined activation event.
➤ Marketing Automation — Trial-to-paid and lifecycle journeys triggered on real product events.
➤ Email Marketing — Onboarding email sequences written around the activation metric.
➤ Account-Based Marketing — Enterprise tier pipeline where the buyer is a company, not a person.
➤ AI Development — Retrieval and evaluation work on your own documentation corpus.
➤ AI Search Optimization — Getting cited for the problem-aware queries your buyers actually type.
➤ Product Strategy — Sequencing, pricing structure and what to deliberately not build.
➤ Fractional CTO — Architecture and technical direction alongside the delivery team.
➤ Dedicated Teams — A named engineering pod scoped as a fixed monthly commitment.
➤ Maintenance & Support — Post-launch iteration, dependency currency and incident response.
Indicative Engagement Shapes
Illustrative fixed-fee phase structures only. Not a quote, not a price list, and not a schedule. Real scope is agreed in writing before anything starts.
Product And Scope Definition
Job stories over features, an explicit MVP boundary, the metering and billing model, and an architecture decision record. Small fixed fee, and the cheapest way to avoid a rebuild.
Core Build
The main fixed-fee tranche: tenant model, authentication, metering and billing, and one or two end-to-end customer workflows.
Launch Readiness
Instrumentation, rate limiting, dependency and security review support, backup and restore rehearsal, documentation and runbook handover.
Maintenance And Iteration
A separately priced monthly retainer for post-launch work, dependency currency and incident response, or a full handover to your own team.
Who This Is Not For
We would rather tell you now than three phases in.
No Product Owner Available
SaaS engineering without anyone empowered to decide scope produces an expensive demo. We need a decision-maker in the room, in writing.
Seeking An Hourly Team
Everything we scope is fixed fee. If you need a bench of billable hours rather than a defined outcome, we are the wrong studio.
Expecting A Compliance Sign-Off
We will not audit, certify or attest SOC 2, ISO 27001 or PCI DSS on your behalf. Engage your own assessors and counsel.
Pre-Revenue And Undecided
If the problem is not validated and nobody wants to cut scope, the work will expand instead of shipping. We would rather help you define the smallest thing first.
Building a software product?
Tell us what the product does, who pays for it, and what is blocking you. We will say plainly whether this is a fixed-fee fit.
